• We start our tour at Majorelle garden. This luxurious oasis was designed in 1924 in Arabic style by French artist Jacques Majorelle. He worked in the blue art-deco studio in the garden. The blue color of this studio is now called Majorelleblue. In 1980, French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent bought the Marjorelle garden.
• The tour continues to see the Koutoubia Mosque. This most impressive monument of Marrakech was built in 1158 with a lot of typical Moroccan stucco with intricate patterns. The minaret is the icon of the city. As a non-Muslim you can't enter this mosque, but usually there is a door open which allows you to see a piece of the impressive prayer hall.
• After that we walk to the Bahia Palace via the district of Mellah. Mellah is a Jewish quarter in Marrakech where many craft products are made. The imposing Bahia Palace made up of around 150 rooms around courtyards and gates. Around it you will find fairy-tale gardens with fruit trees and fountains.
• Through narrow ways we walk to the souks, colorful markets of exotic charm, where all kinds of spices and souvenirs are sold. An explosion of color and odor.
• The last we come to the heart of the old city of Marrakech, the Djemaa el fna square. During the day, this is a bustling open-air market. Here you will find all kinds of merchandise, but also many street performers, acrobats, henna painters.
• We end this Arabic adventure on a rooftop bar, overlooking the Djemaa el fna square with a cup of tea.
